the drawing or the painting?

Looking back on the schedule of the time it was in production: Thumbnails would take 2 weeks for 24 pages, then I'd draw the entire 24 page issue within 2 weeks, then spend a month painting it, which meant usually a day to paint each page.

I always did absolutely love your style and flowing lines. It influenced my drawing ALOT when I was first getting started.

No matter how many times I read/see the Wavedancers comics, I always am in love with the art. Wonderful style, and great job. ^^

Hi There, these WaveDancer Comics were published in 1993-4, so sometime ago. They were never reprinted either, so they are true collectables that are rare. They can be found occationally individually or as a set on Ebay, Other then that location I cannot suggest a place to look. They are unfourtunately becoming an expensive buy though these days.

As to an ElfQuest page within deviant art, I have no idea. Best of luck with that.

Thank you. I was inspired by Erte for this one. he was such a brilliant designer. Not that it would be obvious which one I used as inspiration, but looking at his work is always a great point to launch into new concepts.

Maron and Paffa were favorite characters of mine. So it was always a treat to have them in panel.

Winnowill shucks off the outfit quickly in the story, which made me happy, for it was very detailed and fussy, but it worked well for where it needed to be.

a flash of a sparkle here and there...;-)

I have no idea how long this page took, it was some time ago that I did it. But I was doing one issue of 24 interior pages plus cover ever 2 months. It was grueling, but also exciting.

The pearls did take a long time to do in comparison to other outfits, but it needed to look impressive, and pearls were the thing for the WaveDancers.

Thank you. Doing the series cured me of any fanboy feeling towards EQ and the Pinis, but I still respect the original series including and up to the Hidden Years that Wendy did. After that, it sort of falls apart for me, and my interest is not there.

Thank you, it was nice to play with Winnowill for this series.

Oh thanks heavens! I thought the disinterest at that stage was only me. nice to know I'm not the only one. it was always the art that grabbed my riveted attention, anyway. the story lines always had such strange holes in them. :P

you know, I always did like her . . maybe not her final personality, but she was really a great character. and gorgeous! plus, I must say . . . my hubby is a huge Linsner fan, and your work with Dawn is just stunning. *sighs* had to make myself stop faving them! :D you are a truly masterful artist.

The EQ stories and art from time that were farmed out to do were not very inspired. I liked what we did because we created our concept fresh and brought it to Warp, so we felt a connection to the work we were doing as true creators, not as artists "work-for-hire", and our contract reflected that.

Dawn is a great character, and Linsner is a brilliant artist. I've enjoyed my time playing with the character for the mermaid treatment. I hope your hubby likes my take on Dawn.

sorry this took so long! I got buried . . . :P

my husband ADORES what you've done! he's even pestering me to find out how to add your version to his vast Dawn collection (and trust me, it is vast). any hints? I'm quite sure he'd willingly pay whatever is required . . he is a true collector. :D

If your hubby has the original comics of Dawn Return of the Goddess, he will see my work in the 3rd issue as the back up story. Plus there is the one page of art that predates that story and was my first touch of Dawn as a mermaid in the "Dreams of Dawn" special WIZARD issue that came out. So your hubby being the true collector probably already has my work amoungst his Linsner collection.

I hope that I will be invited to do more for Joe and Dawn in the future. Till then, my focus is on the Tilaweed and Hyfus story.

*gasp* I went back and looked and he does have them! wow. that's just too cool. :)

I too hope that . . . you truly did Dawn justice. and that is a rare thing from someone not MJL! till then, I suppose I must start collecting your wonderful story. ;)

Great to see that you have my work already in your collection, hopefully my art can add that extra sparkle to the already dazzling brilliance of JML.

Your support in my new work will be greatly appreciated...thank you, and I hope it will deliver for you too.
