I, Shoggoth

By JoynerStudio
I, Shoggoth
front

An evolved Shoggoth, trying (in its own primitive way) to disguise itself as its maker, HP Lovecraft, in order to rise to the surface, longing for the taste of wind and sunlight.  Shoggoths were created in literary form by HP Lovecraft, primarily from his novel At the Mountains of Madness. The Shoggoth is a slave race, built by an alien beings called Elder Things, and primarily reside in Antarctica. Being giant amorphous blobs, they're covered in multitudes of eyes and mouths, and can change shape when needed.

Great concept and execution- especially Lovecraft's likeness which is no mean feat!  The mask reminds me a bit of the Mi-Go wearing the wax mask in 'Whisperer'.

Indeed. This is quite profound. So much here, and it continues to unfold as you begin to really see it. Brilliant work.

I'm not familiar with what this piece of art refers to, thus cannot understand it for real, but…
What I see looks absolutely amazing nevertheless. Can notice the concept of disguising self too.
