I've been here a few years now, but for whatever reason I've never discussed other artists or people's works who inspire me, even though I have their little icons at the bottom of my journal. O_O! I know, I know, the shame... Anyway, there's no way I could include everybody whose art I admire since there's just too many, and I know you guys have probably come across works by many of the following, but still. Whenever I just need to "browse" for inspiration, I find myself turning to these galleries (in no particular order...)

- I remember when I first discovered her art like... oh... 5 years ago or so and was stunned. She drew a lot more portraits then, with soulful expressions and a wonderful sense of darkness and beauty. Since then, everything she's posted has never failed to amaze me. O__O! Howwww is it possible to draw things that look so real and that you wish were real? She is amazingly versatile and I love that she tries everything, from tackling forests and water to skin tones and fabrics and just about everything else.

- Another person whose talent and versatility is awe-inspiring! His Pepper Series (drawing his character Pepper in tons and tons of different art styles) is so fun to look at (and makes me wish I could buy a Pepper artbook ^^). What's truly wondrous is how he can create a dynamic, dazzling picture with a sparse number of brushstrokes.

- I have googed mree's artwork since we were five years old. Seriously. >D Her sketches are always so clean and well shaded, and I adore the fantasy elements and details she puts into her drawings. These days, I look forward to her professional-calibur flash animations, and the funny spoofs that always crack me up. XD

- The kind of artistic poetry I strive for. The feeling just oozes from her pictures, everything from the peace and calm to loneliness and broken hearts. Also a wide range of styles and mediums here.

- I love love love Klar's lineart. <3 <3 <3 Her style ranges from super cute to sexy, but always with meticulous attention to detail and especially anatomy. T_T Loves her characters.

- Demos is so kickass. In fact, the whole gallery is full of kickass. Lots of unabashed attitude and guys in shirts and suits. ^_^

- I'm a huuuuuge fan of the composition and coloring style of shirotsuki's artwork. Her color palettes are always eyepoppingly bold, always blending together so well!

- her stuff always puts a smile on my face. Her heroines are cute, unique, spunky, and lovely all at once! I especially love her outfits and the way she draws hair.

- I think "paintings" are the right word to describe his art--they all seem to tell a story and you can almost feel the texture of the brushstrokes he uses. Beautiful surreal quality.
I'm sure I will think of more to add in the coming days.

Meanwhile, i'm curious... who are *your* favorite artists on DA and why?
