It’s hot, for several weeks now, bloody hot. The ice-cubes in my glass of water melt in seconds and the water is still lukewarm. With these temperatures I rather stay inside. The curtains stay closed in an attempt to keep the warmth out. I sleep a lot trough the day. Because at night it is impossible to get more then 4 or 5 hours of sleep.
The thermometer rises steadily from 25 degrees Celsius to 28 Celsius. The grass outside looks like straw, and could spontaneously combust. But the last week it is getting hotter still. Temperatures passing 30 C, 32, 34, 36!... Oh no…
I have to get the inner-city for some necessary groceries which are not in my local supermarket. The tires of my bike seems to be glued to the pavement. So hot. I could swear that a layer of rubber has been spread over the road.
