SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated is the long awaited cult classic game originally released for the Xbox, PS2 and GameCube back in 2003. When I was a kid, this game was a must have where I came from. All of my friends were diehard fans of SpongeBob, so it would make sense that we’d be addicted to a platformer revolving around SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy fighting evil robots in various areas of Bikini Bottom… all because Plankton forgot to pull the “Obey” lever.
It wasn’t just my friends who were a fan of this game; years after it was released, it grew a cult following and was (and still is today) a game that many speedrunners love to stream. This may confuse casual gamers as some may see it as a regular SpongeBob game. The original version came out at a time where there were licensed games based off of every property imaginable. Of course, many of them are considered shovelware titles that people recommend you stay away from, but Battle for Bikini
