Since November of 2006 I have been emailing my wife a flower photograph every morning as a small way of saying "I love you." Bee's Morning Flowers

This morning I sent her 10,000th flower photo.

Not everyone appreciates my 14-year tradition of sending my wife flower photos, I guess. I received this comment a few days ago. The eyeball with the backslash indicates that she has blocked me, so I couldn't defend myself.

Dear DeviantArt,

For 14 years your website was a wonderful source for photographs of flowers to send to my wife every morning (https://www.deviantart.com/josephthomas/favourites/5331637/bee-s-morning-flowers). Now that you have redesigned the site -- improved it into a failure, in my opinion -- finding such photographs has become futile. Using a search string just doesn't do it. Adding keywords to the search string broadens the search rather than narrowing it.

So I will apply my time proven problem solving technique. I give up.

One other way that the “new” deviant art sucks. Send someone a link to one of your galleries (folders). If the recipient doesn’t know where to look, he’ll never find it.

I woke about an hour ago and lay beside my wife -- still sleeping, my arm across her body, her hand atop mine. If someone had been there to see us I guess he would have seen us as two people in their sixties, an old married couple, but it doesn't feel that way to me. I don't feel like a newlywed -- it's not like that either. There's a different kind of energy from that, but there is definitely an energy -- a sort of low frequency but powerful pulse, like a sound that is not heard but felt deep inside the chest.

Those of you who know me well enough will get this. My granddaughter Elizabeth Anne is an apprentice hairdresser and a pretty swanky salon.
