While the moment was brief, maybe a few minutes. As I took this beautiful creatures photo, I felt a connection in that space between us. Not out of fear, or out of awe, but as two living beings sharing the same Earth.

I think this is one of the more appealing wild cat photos I have seen lately. The composition is stunning and takes full advantage of the rule of thirds. The view naturally flows from the big cat's paws upwards along the diagonal heading towards the upper left corner. Sharpness and lighting are both gorgeous. The most beautiful aspect though is the cat's intense stare into the camera. No hostility, just a keen interest that almost seems friendly.

One question though: Your tags include both "leopard" and "jaguar". In the interest of accuracy, I would suggest to find out which one is it. My guess is, it's a jaguar.

Thank you for taking the time to write this Norbert! I really admire your wild life work and I'm happy you think this was skillfully taken. This was actually taken in 2012 ( I was going through old photos and stumbled onto it) and I'm having a hard time remembering which one it was. I think you are right and that it is a jaguar. Thanks again for taking a look at my photo and the kind review. I hope you have a wonderful day.

This beautiful beast is staring right into my soul and saying "dinner" :P

Great photo though, very good capture of the shadows and contuses without losing the impact of the image itself!

Black and whites of living things always convey more expression and impact than colored photos, in my humble opinion. The intrigue, curiosity and hint of danger is very apparent in the cat's expression. they are such amazing creatures, so calm in their interest. The capture of it here and the use of lighting is really well done. In fact, it is rather mesmerizing.

Thank you Raven! I feel like in a way taking the color out brings the walls down. I'm glad that you also feel that way. Thank you so much for your comment
