So I got my High School Diploma today. Uber excited, but also worried. I'll start SVA in September but it's pretty expensive (even with financial aid). I'll pull though. Hoping my comics'll sell, maybe get a job on campus. I'll report back soon
Distracted + Web ComicSorry I haven't submitted anything in like two months. I've been distracted by this new year if SVA. But more importantly I've been upload the Jonny Web Series pages on Tumblr, Facebook, Tapastic, and Inkblazers. I'll try to upload more fan art/original works here (just put up a comic of Jack and the Beanstalk I did for class) but if you guys want to see we're the majority of my attention has been, check out my comic on these sites. I personally advise going straight to the Jonny Comics Tumblr site, the pages are really big and look awesome!
Thank You DeviantArt!So this is bit of a special day for me, because I've just reached 100 deviations. Wait, before you think I'm a snubby egotist, this entry isn't really about that.
I just wanted to thank all you wonderful on this site that took time out of (*cough*) busy lives to look at my silly drawings. I really feel I've grown. My digital stuff actually looks presentable, I'm part of more groups then before, gotten a couple of watchers, and all kinds of other jawginn'.
On this "anniversary", I want to thank anyone whose favored or even looked at my stuff. You're really helping me get around. My two most popular deviants have even reached over 100 favorites, which is more then I can handle.
If you want, here they are: I'm Gonna Wreck YOU! A fight scene of Ralph and Felix from Disney's popular movie "Wreck-It Ralph"
Commissions......?Hello wonderful Deviants,
A lot has changed since my last journal entry (nearly 5 months ago I think). In that time I have join more groups, allowing me to reach a much wider audience. Much of my recent devs have been of fan art. Not that creepy "shipping" stuff, I don't roll like that. Just pic of things I love, like Nightmare on Elm Street for Halloween or the release of Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
While I love doing this sort of stuff, my own super-hero, The J, has been taking a back seat. But I haven't forgotten him. I have entered Issues 5 and 6 in a contest for Society of Illustrators. If I'm lucky they'll, with other comics, tour colleges 'round the country. Figures crossed.
Back to fan art. The real reason for this journal entry in to talk about COMMISSIONS...com
SVA and Moonbase Comics On the 3rd of September, I'll start college. I'm uber excited, but that's not all I wanted to say. For anyone interested, my Jonny Comics are for sale on www.moonbasecomics.com. It's not a crazy big website but I'm proud of it. You can order them through Paypal or other means (which I haven't figured yet). If you my stuff you should check it.
Post-MoCCASo MoCCA Fest is over. I made about $34 on my Jonny Comics, so I'd say it was a success. Issue #4 is being printed, and I working on a trade paperback of all four. Maybe then I can think about strated a fifth issue......
MoCCA 2013I know it's been alwhile since my last journal entry. I've been very busy and forgetful.
I'm glad to say that after much delay, Jonny #3 is finally being printed. It will be available at MoCCA Fest. Look for the Moonbase Comics booth.
I am currently coloring Issue 4. I'm working as fast as I can to get this out before the summer.
Be sure to check out Moonbase's new website: moonbasecomics.com
Hope to write soon,
Devious Journal EntryGreat news Deviantartists,
Jonny #1 is finally finshed!!! After 4 long months; the first issue is inked, colored, and proof-read. It just needs to printed by my teacher Mr.Klein. I already posted the cover if you guys want to see it. As of now, I am unsure when it will hit the stores, though Mr.Klein has been talkin' about NYC Comic-Con. I will keep you posted on updates. Now to start part 2 :0
Devious Journal EntryGood news Devianties. Jonny #1 is almost finshed! 14 of 19 of the pages are colored/proof-read and #15 is halfway colored. And in the back lines I've been drawing the pages for part 2. With a bit of luck (and the right resources during the summer) I could have the origin story done by the time of the NYC Comic-Con I hope to even futher the Jonny franchies be doing two more issues in senior year. Of course, this is but a dream; but hay, you never now what could happen unless you apply yourself.
Devious Journal EntryJust a quick update. Downloading the trail of photoshop is alot trickier than excpected I could seem to download it, yet I did everything; I even watched it load the stupid thing. Luckliy, I have a cartooning club at school tomorrow from 4 to 6pm. I'll just use the school's photoshop. 2 hours should be enough to color it. Once again, we'll just have to wait and see.
Protecting yourself from Paypal chargebacksI decided I'd write something on this since it seems to be affecting a lot of my friends and artists I'm close to. I'll start with a few disclaimers.
I am not a finance expert. I have never filed a chargeback nor have I been in a chargeback dispute (fortunately). I have done some research out of both curiosity and out of desire to help out the community a bit. This is going to be quick(ish) and summarized. I'm also going to be changing some things to the way I sell as well (obviously).
This journal isn't about what to do in a chargeback dispute but rather, how to set up your sales so that you'll have the upper hand when having to deal with a dispute. I've included some useful links at the bottom for further information!

Printed Minky Reviewedit to add: yes the printed minky is washable! I didn't wash mine, but according to spoonflower "Wash separately in cool or warm water using a gentle machine cycle. Machine dry using a low temperature or permanent press setting and remove promptly to avoid wrinkles." Although please don't machine wash a plush, ahah. Just the fabric.
So I recently got the chance to play with printed minky! Here's a sort of review about it
Bought from: spoonflower.com
Price: $28/yrd. Very expensive, but for a very versatile product of this quality it's definitely justified.
Shipping: Only $6 to Canada, with tracking, took about a week and a half to arrive once shipped, no duties. A+
File prep: spoonflower has very simple requirements that are easy to follow. I scanned my pattern pieces, cleaned them up and colored them, then I copied them into a file that was set to spoonflower's specifications (150dpi, set to the width of minky. I added length as I needed it). To make sure my pieces
