Karrin Murphy

By JonathanWyke
A while back, I started this

This version is really part of me playing with a more comicy, less painty colouring style... opinions very welcome!

Wow - fantastic drawing!! Carrin scowls so much in the books that it's fun to see her with a genuine smile. I love your line work and the pose is fun. Well done.

Cheers! She does scowl an awful lot - I'd just read the bit where she has a family picnic thing, and was thinking how good it was to see her away from death, magic and guns. I guess that's what I was looking for here

You did a fantastic job. It seems that as the books go on - she gets more and more miserable emotionally so this is like the calm before the storm.
Terrific pic of one of the most awesome characters in the series, Doc.

Cheers! She is by far my favorite character in the books :)

I've always imagined her with pin-straight hair, but this isn't bad once you get used to it. Though, won't you draw her with straighter hair? Pretty please?

I wanted to give her more mussed up hair... I like mussed up hair :)

Next time I do Murph, I'll see about making it straighter!

I would love that, thanks in advance! :thanks:

Tiny but Fierce!

I like your take on Murphy. But I must say that your take really reminds me of Scully of "the X-files" (not judgemental just an observation/opinion).

More peolple should draw Murph, there just is not enough Dresden files fanart on DA.

I agree, there should be more Dresden fan-art, especially if it doesn't give Harry a hat...

I think I see what you mean about Scully - I guess it's possible she was one of the influences in my head when I drew her.

Then again it is pretty hard to draw a small but tough cop (by extension dressed in a blue suit with a white shirt and a badge) and not think of Scully. That probably has more to do with the iconic Scully (famous and always dressed the same) than with your drawing.

I like your take and I agree that we should see more fan art of Harry without the hat.
