Judge Dredd: K-2001 Killdozer and Landraider #3 by JonathanBluestone Judge Dredd: K-2001 Killdozer and Landraider #3 by JonathanBluestone
When Mega-City Two was besieged by the horrific 2T (Fru)T plague and the spaceports and landing pads became unsafe to land on, the Mega-City One Justice Department dispatched Judge Dredd and a squad of hand-picked senior Judges to cross the Cursed Earth to take a vaccine to the city to cure it. The post-atomic hell of the Cursed Earth was considered so dangerous that the journey was to be made in a armored fort on tracks in the form of the K-2001 Killdozer and Landraider, a combined heavy assault vehicle. Shown here in its combined format the vehicle almost made it to Mega-City Two, having survived almost everything that the Cursed Earth could throw at it. This image is a cross-section through both vehicles while they are mated up. The forward section (the Landraider) was a fast pursuit vehicle armed with an underslung laser cannon which was powered by the nuclear pile located low mid-vehicle. It contained the command section, the hygiene facilities and the sleeping accommodation and beneath the floor was the vaccine refrigeration unit. The rear section was the Killdozer containing the nemesis rocket/missile launching rack which was controlled from its upper deck, wherein the lower deck held the Q-Bikes (Lawmasters), the armory and the repair and maintenance facilities for both the bikes and the Judges weapons plus an ammunition store.

These are complete re-draws of the original plans I posted in 2016 based on the K-2001 Matchbox toy released in 1976.

Always thought the arc was inspired by Zelazny's "Damnation Alley".

In part. In the 2nd Edition of The Cursed Earth and again in the history of 2000A.D. its referenced but the truth is a number of movies of that era were its inspiration.

Glad you like it. I've wanted to do this one for ages but my health simply was not up to it. That illustration took me the better part of a week to composed, plan out and finish and yes, I've taken some liberties with the 'canon' and the 'model' which existed as a toy but given the circumstances I think my version makes more sense.
