Yes it happened, a ruins matte painting of NY.

I chose not to put in any famous buildings since that's been done many times. (sorry Shreeve, Lamb and Harmon :p)
I took the plate of this pic on the roof of the POD hotel somewhere around 55th.

These scenes you create of ruined cities are hauntingly beautiful. I have always been fascinated with such works as this and ghost ships.

Amazing work! I have stayed in the POD - This image is even more evocative, as I recognise the area here.

I cannot explain why, but I adore this piece - in fact I adore the humor of it. How the mighty have fallen and all that. But then, for years as a child I used to have nightmares of my own city, London (UK) being in ruins like this. Resembling something that had been nuked out.

Hello  JonasDeRo,  I am starting a post-apocalyptic story on Episode Interactive, a mobile story making app. This would make a great scene in it.  I was hoping to get your permission to use this in my story.  You will be given credit for it.

It's so... calming, in an eerie way. A reassurance that even once we are dead and gone, the world will keep turning. Beautiful piece.
