This is an amazing piece of art! I love the contrast and how it's like light beams shining in on the background. The colors are amazing quality as well. Like how the wolf's blue eyes are so piercing, and how it looks as if San's jewel has glowing quality.
Also, I like how you added the blood; in most of Princess Mononoke's wallpapers or covers, her face is covered in blood. Here you add small smudges of blood everywhere.
It's amazing how you turned an anime picture into something so realistic.
This image is beautiful as it is fierce (if you get what I mean). Love it!!!!!!

Wow this is amazing. As a fan of these movies I may be more impressed than some. Honestly this is amazing and I think you should definetly continue doing art for Studio Ghibli. The only think is the background could have a few more details but other than that this is just amazing an you should continue working on work like this. Honestly I really thought of giving originality 5 stars but then I saw Mononoke night and like the background a bit better other than that this is a very good job an keep on drawing. Great job paying attention to the little details and making this a realistic princess Mononoke.

This is incrediable, the lines are very smooth. And origanal.
But the depth in the detail is amazing, with so many smooth shadings. (You have picked the colors beautifully.)
I have never heard of this Princess Mononoke but i am very much assured that you have reached what is needed for the fanart~ side of it.
It's very realistic which is what i love in drawings, but still with their (your) orginal style involved. Just the swiftness and life in this picture is wow... it's kinda speechless to describe as what i have in my head right now i CANNOT put into words, but i'd love to explain how much i love this drawing and just can't stop staring at it.

The wolf is very well done, especially the hair it has life and a 3D effect, unlike some drawings where they are VERY flat and unrealistic. Telling me you have put so much effort and care into this peice of work and i admire you a lot for that.
Keep up the good work and congratulations on this peice.
~I think it should be featured on dA's homepage for the Daily deviatation~ (I'll recommend you if you haven't been already..)

Thank you for sharing this beautiful art you have here&&

I think you did a wonderful job. I love the detail, like the little purple bug on the mask and the blood. I think this does a lot of justice to the original and is a wonderful painting. Mononoke looks like a real person and the wolf goddess looks very realistic as well, almost as if they were going to jump right out of my computer screen. The shading is magnificent and it looks like they both have dimension. The proportions are nice and very realistic. I can't think of a better way to honor such a great movie. I love it and all in all you should be very proud.

This is just GORGEOUS! Mind blowing! Everything is so realistic but not too real.
I love the lighting, the way you drew the fur of the wolf and the blood smears.
The glow in the eyes are brilliant
The shading is beautifully done, flawless!
The background is beautifully drawn and goes really well with everything
Everything is perfect, I don't have any more words to say!
But you forgot an extra hole in San's (Princess Mononoke) mask but other than that, this is an amazing piece of art! You really talent! Beautiful, Gorgeous, brilliant!!! Well done! you are favorite artist!

Wow. Such beautiful artwork! I love the expression you did on her face along with the wolf. And also, the color. It really does bring out the amazing texture of this piece of artwork. I also love how you did the woman's eyes. They look golden like honey. And also the wolves eyes too. I love how they look with the nice shade of aqua blue (or whatever it's called). I'd like to actually see more of this, but I can't. D: This really does deserve a Favorite, no matter. Keep it up! I'd want to be admired from this type of artwork.

greatly drawn! great detail and color. I don'y know much about this woman except she is the son of a wolf god and that princess monokoe is half human and half wolf. but still great art if you do or don't know her anyways. it is very welf done on everything. the back ground, color, characters, deatil, how the bright day light is done, all of it. good detail even the blood on the wolf's mouth is done good. though I have no idea what the red thing on her head is for. very well done art peice. very cool.

This is amazing however I'm not sure this is your best picture ever, I doubt this will offend you;

The wolf nose needs to be a bit more circular, it's a bit square.
The left earlobe on the wolf just needs to be a little more detached from the side of the head.
And some how the hand seems to look like it should be a bit bigger.

Overall this is brilliant not too keen on her orange hat!
I love the way you made the blue necklace glow.
There something about the necklace and the glow beautiful.
This picture is very realistic and I can see you really must've worked hard!

Princess Mononoke is my favorite movie,and....its hard to describe how amazingly beautiful this picture is.San looks just as I would imagine her if she was real.I love the effect on the necklace, how it looks as if its glowing. The shading on everything is beautiful too.The wolf looks amazing also. It must have been difficult to do all the fur details. It looks very real in my opinion. To be honest, the first time I saw this, before I clicked on it,I thought it was a cosplay photo.Thats how great this is.
Overall, one of the most beautiful drawings I've seen.

Wow! What an exceptional piece! ^-^

I think this really works in a number of ways - primarily, the way you've coloured this draws the eye to every part of the picture, but in a very clever way that it doesn't seem confusing or a mess - the two sets of eyes, the pendant Mononoke wears, the blue jewels on the spear and the purple butterfly on her headdress, the spear itself and the little whisps in the wind - all of these very luminous and especially eye-catching colours and details I feel makes this piece seem very balanced. As opposed to there just being one central dominating feature to which everything else is secondary (very, very few works I feel can truly achieve this) - but this artwork really makes use of the full 'page' and does it well, without it coming across as seeming confusing or unfocused.

I think the placements of blood on the wolf and on San creates a secondary balancing effect (reinforced by their facial art) truly gives this piece a large part of its magic!

I think San's raised eyebrow, but face turned towards the wolf gives a very cheeky impression lol, a strange mix of defiance whilst also showing who's side she's already on - which also, I think is an excellent reflection of the film and the statements San makes more though her actions and other non-verbal communication - something you transmit very well here

Again, the butterfly was a very nice touch both for the reasons mentioned above, and for the fact it again alludes back to San's connection to the forest in which she lives - she was a child of nature, and the addition of the insect is such a wonderful detail that the forest in return has accepted her

Overall, exceptional detail added and a wonderful work of art! Very realistic and such incredible artistic skills you have! ^_^

I haven't given the originality a full five stars only for the organisation of this piece; though its quite a nit-picky point, its more along the lines of the fact its a 'posed piece' and - whilst I think they can be great for details and a chance to show a bio-pic, they don't always allow for a full inclusion of character the way a mid-action/dynamic pic can. But again, that is nothing against you as an artist or a point about your skills (and there are plenty of legitimate reasons for doing a pic of this arraignment) so its only really the fact that I think San's nature would be most at odds with would be doing a posed picture hahah!

Overall, though: amazing work! I really loved this piece!

Did saw the last 2 critiques, and I'm really impressed by the length. I'm not good at English, since I'm Vietnamese, so I'll try my best this time.
Mononoke Hime, until now, is one of my most favorite movies. The first thing I wanna say is the background. Green just like the forest she lived. I like the way the trees stand. It's like there's wind inside the forest. Second, I used to read a fanfic, which tells that San has 3 triangle on her face. Hey, there is! Love San's expression in this pic. It's like she'd just returned from a battle (against human). One thing I've noticed a lot is the jewel at her neck. I thought that was a crystal dagger, but it's not. And the spear, well, it's not like a spear much.
Third, the wolf, First of all, I like its eyes. Blue. Deep blue, with a little red (blood). And there is blood at its mouth. Yo, had he just killed someone?
In conclusion, I like this pic. As well as my friend, I hope to wee more from u (seriously, more pls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

First of all I have to say that I love the contrast with the colors. They are just amazing, and I can honestly say that this is one of your best pieces so far.

Let's start with the wolf; the shading with the fur is just amazing, and the shading and colors are enviable, and the blood you have on the fur is realistic, and not plastic looking or just plain out stupid. It's well done and I would easily give you a 5 star rating for the wolf if you drew him out individually. The eyes are so bold and hold a fire that sends shivers down my spine, and the symbol/marking on his forehead is superb. The one thing that bothers me with the wolf is the ears, they look smoothed out and clay-like (the edges do) other than that, the wolf is as striking as Princess Mononoke.

Now for the Princess of Beasts; she has a very striking beauty and the shape of her face is nicely done, though her head is a bit too big for her shoulders, or maybe it's the way you drew her out, either way, she still looks striking. Her hand is small and dainty, and it looks...well, out of proportion. And the one thing that really annoys me in this picture (which in itself is amazing) is the blade on the spear. It's too small, and in the movie it's a good 5 or 6 inches long, and the spear in this picture is just too small for my tastes. Though to make up for that annoyance, I have to say that the blood in general in this piece is wonderful. She shading, the coloring, the smudginess of the blood is amazing, and having it near her mouth brings out her character. Next, the jewel on the Princess's wolf coat/shawl/thing gives off an eerie feeling, bringing out the supernatural tastes of this movie (like the Kodama and the Forest Spirit, Nago, Moro..) and her accessories are all in the right place, with the right shading and just seems so realistic and in more detail than that of the movie. (kind of obvious, but it's gotta be said!)and before I leave, her hair. Dear god, Her HAIR! I love it! It's short, almost has a cropped feeling, and the way it curls around her face just helps accent her features. Her hair, and her head-band helps give her a 'Mononoke Princess' feeling. And I have to say that her headdress is nicely shaded and at first I thought it was too small, then I really looked at it, and it would suit her face perfectly. The butterfly on that mask is a nice touch and I can honestly say that this piece has to be on the front page for days! The lighting just...gives the characters their pa-zazzzz!!! I may be taking this a bit far, or I am just in the moment, but this is would make Hayao Miyazaki proud to have fans like you.
Before I leave, I noticed that this was really different from your original techniques, and I have to give you major bravo's and cheers for your success. Keep on giving us amazing arts, my fellow artisan!

Wow, this is ... just wow. When I first saw this I didn't recognize your stale at all - it's somehow different from your other paintings - maybe because you mostly draw sceneries and this is a portrait and I've also never seen a wolf from you. It looks like you used references for both heads, which (if I'm right) definitely paid off for they look very realistic and lively. The girl's head is especially well done - the mouth, the hair, the neat marks on her face, that are also well shaded, etc., etc.
The amount detail is gorgeous as well - there's more than enough to keep one's eyes busy searching for it, but you still kept your cool and didn't resort to drawing every single hair separately (which is a meaningless work I tend to do and try to get rid of this habit )
Another thing I really like about this are the colors. I simply love that fresh tone of green used in the background. It gives the picture an atmosphere of a deep magical forest full of life. The red suits it well and in my opinion there's just about the right amout of it there. And the shiny blue stuff makes the picture nicely colorful and interesting. The colors used on eyes are also beautiful and very intense - I kept staring at them for a long time
I also like that the hand holding the spear has slightly warmer color than the shoulder behind it - it makes it obvious the hand is in the front.
And finally what makes the picture complete is the use of the greenish light and purple shadows - great choice. It seems you spent quite some time thinking about it and made there some interesting light effects - like the reflection of light from the earrings (wow!) or the tiny shiny pieces in the foreground.
There's of course many more things that deserve praise, but I'm too lazy to poit out all of them
And now it's time for a bit of my nitpicking Really the picture is awesome, no doubt about it, but there's a few things (or rather tiny details) I think could be improved (but then again I'm not a great artist and I might be wrong, but they're ideas you might use).
Firstly, I think the wolf's ears could use a bit more your attention. The hair in the wolf's ears is very dense, yet you put there much less detail than to the rest of the fur. Also the edge of the ears could be a bit more bordered (or how to say it).
Then, even though I know the perspective plays its part there, the princess' left shoulder is too small and short compared to the other one and looks a bit flat - I think making the edge a bit darker (so it's not the lightest part of the shoulder) would help.
The third thing is that the collarbone is perhaps too bent and bordered too sharply.
That's about all the flaws I could find and perhaps I'm the only one who sees them as such. In that case I'm sorry for criticising pointlessly

That's about it. But truthfully, I'm impressed by this work and by the progress you make with every picture. I'm looking forward to seeing more from you so keep up the good work

For one, I love the airbrush technique you used for this piece - it doesn't look like it was airbrushed, especially in Mononoke's skin (so smooth!!). What really caught my attention was the beautiful triangle between the wolf's eyes, Mononoke's eyes, and her gem on her hood. The blue gem pulled my eyes from the wolf to her, and then the bright pop of golden brown against the blue drew me to her face, and then back to the wolf, etc, etc. (In saying that, I like that you extended the glow front he gem to her clothes and her skin.) The butterfly on her headdress puzzles me, though; not that it isn't well executed, but that I personally hardly noticed it looking at Mononoke and her wolf-brother, so I just wonder if it needs to be in the piece at all.

Still, amazing work as always!

To tell the truth, this is a thrashing piece of work, From the detail of the eye's to the sweet gentile flow of the fur of the wolf. And to the small lights that slow at the bottom to where it is the darken point of the two subject's. The Value of the forest from the greenest side to the dark green of the back-side.

When i look at how the wolf's body. I do find it charming that there are two small scratches on the the right side of his eye. The blood dose mix with the fur, and how there is still a bit of blood dripping from it's mouth. I do feel like the wolf's ear could have had a bit more fur, than just a bold line. The back of his fur looks a bit to stiff, but when i looked at the downloaded version, i can see that the lines don't just look stiff but there is more than just one big piece of fur.

The way Mononoke looks dose look good, but i do give you props for how she looks human. It can be hard to do. And you did full fill it in the best way possible. But i do think if you did a bit less cartoon style it would of came out even better. But that's my opinion. You really pulled it off with her hair, eye's, mouth. You Sure did a lot of detail into her skin tone and i love the tones. It's very lovely. When i look at her hand, how it's splattered with blood, and how it smeared over the skin. The spear is also a thing that dose show how she's not afraid to get down and dirty. The blue orb is a nice touch. How'd you made it look like it's glowing. Her mask is very well done. I like how you added the violet butterfly as well, showing that even if she dose have blood, she can be caring to all of nature. And which is turn. As it's was soon in the movie. You really did a good job into this. With all your skill. I'm very glad of this. And I am so, faving this. Good job.
