When we lost the rhythm and flow And the dancing of light reminded us Of the comfort we found in dreams written down Or the curve of the river's meandering way Where we observed the stitch and weave of the world And marveled at nature's intelligence The place and the purpose of all things, even of that which challenges us Lost to the routine of 9 to 5 and bureaucratic hurdles Missing the simple beauty of the world and the calm wisdom of oneness with it A place of simple existence and knowing oneself Now we live in a world of constant chatter Filled with one headline after another that needles our anxiety A perpetual cycle of hopes raised and dashed We are exhausted The currency of the world has become fear
