TRIVIA

1. This storyline is one of the few that received a mature audiences warning, due solely to themes of incest.

2. While several other storylines had also received mature audiences warnings, this is the only storyline to have a scene removed. The scene in question showed Debi and Didi in the shower, albeit from the shoulders up. However, it was what they were doing in the shower that got the scene cut: they were kissing passionately. The scene does appear in the unrated version, only available on DVD and Blu-Ray.

3. Debi & Didi are the only characters to have dialogue in this storyline, although other characters appear.

4. The only Idiosynchronicity storyline to have a direct sequel, which was titled "Incest is Like Kissing Your Sister". The storyline, which appeared in the comic in 2004, reveals that approximately six months after the events of "The Awakening", Debi began to identify as male, and began the process of transitioning, taking the name Graham. The transition was made difficult due to the fact he and Didi were unable to be separated. However, they were excited at the prospect of becoming the world's first pair of brother/sister conjoined twins, so Didi gave the green light to the transition. The story takes place nearly 6 years after the events of "The Awakening", one year after Debi/Graham underwent final gender reassignment surgery. As of May, 2025, an animated adaptation is in pre-production, with Didi being the one to transition, due to the death of Helene Shortridge, who voiced Debi in the original story. However, her twin sister Serena will be reprising the role of Debi, with Didi/Graham now played by Eric Adams. According to producers, Serena Shortridge and Eric Adams are filming scenes while glued together at the abdomen, in order to be used as live action references for animators.

5. Producers have confirmed that Didi and Debi/Graham will have a sex scene in the adaptation of "Incest Is Like Kissing Your Sister", despite the actual story in the comic only implies the two are in a physical relationship.
