Pumpkin of Wisdom - Princess Zelda

And we finish of this year's pumpkin season with what may be my favorite pumpkin of the year, if not ever.

Ever since I carved Link, I've wanted to carve a matching Zelda pumpkin. At the same time, she's got a lot more layers going on, so it was a bit intimidating. I decided that this was the year for it, but ran out of time to carve her. What better carve for some post-Halloween carving shenanigans?

I'm in love with this pumpkin. I want to marry it. It took a whopping 9 hours. I watched over half of MLP: FiM Season 2 while carving this. Between all the details and layers, it was a really tough carve. My livestream couldn't handle the awesomeness, and my computer crashed twice. I'm so happy with the result that I have no words. Except for this long description.

While my Link pumpkin is based off Phantom Hourglass, and Ganondorf from Wind Waker, this one is based off the artwork from Spirit Tracks. Kind of fitting how that worked out. And now I've carved all three bearers of the Triforce! Go me!

HOW DO YOU MAGIC??? La la la la Stare Stare Stare Nuu
For real, I just carved a RWBY pumpkin and I was feeling pretty good about it until I saw this skill. Like omg.

It's just a lot of practice! I've been doing this for over 15 years now xD

it must take alot of wisdom to know how to do that to a pumpkin

That is super-awesome! I was wondering what sort of tools you use for the relief parts? I tried my hand at a multi-layer design this year and the x-acto knife I used just wasn't working. If I do another one I'd like to make it easier on myself.

Thanks! Sorry I didn't see your question earlier, I kind of got buried last year. I use an x-acto knife in combination with a dremel drill for my shading. I posted a tutorial here: Pumpkin Carving Tutorial - Part 2 if it helps at all!
