Description
Flash 7 or above required
This is that trackbar I made and used in several of my Flash animations - I'm putting it up here for any aspiring animators to use. Hopefully nobody claims this as their own invention. Well, the submission date of this ought to suffice as evidence in my favor. Anyhow, this is how to use it:
1) Open the .fla file
2) You'll see the trackbar just sitting there. Select it and copy it
3) Go to your .fla file / animation
4) Paste the trackbar on the top layer
5) Resize it so it matches the dimensions of the screen, and move it to the bottom (where you'd like it to appear)
6) Press F9 (this will bring up the Actions window)
7) Read through the comments I've written and change any values as necessary. Be especially careful of fps, or the timer will be off.
8) Enjoy!
Note: This can also double as a preloader. It'll pause the movie and inform you how much has been loaded in the lower right, so the viewer can start watching when they feel there's enough of a head start.
Oh yeah, and I suppose I should give props to the fellows who design MPC (and the original Windows Media Player), from which the layout and interface is based on.
