Your Golden Opportunity

It’s hard running a carnival. People have so many options for entertainment these days, it’s tough to get anyone to take a drive out here just to enjoy a few games and rides. Or at least, it was tough, until you added your latest invention to the carnival attractions.

“The Golden Orb” doesn’t seem like anything special at first glance. It’s just a room filled with blinking golden lights. But if someone stares at those lights long enough, they can get very relaxed. Relaxed enough for you to put them in a trance. At first, all you did was plant the suggestion in their minds that they just had the best experience of their life. That got you enough good word of mouth to turn your carnival into a huge success. But soon you got greedy. You started telling the rich ones to empty their wallets and then forgot they ever had money in there. And when a celebrity or CEO of a big company would show up, you’d “suggest” that they move some of their money into your untraceable offshore bank account.

It all seemed like the perfect crime… until you saw Wonder Woman on your security monitors. You didn’t think there was any way that lost money could be traced back to you, but there was no other reason Wonder Woman would be skulking around here after hours. If she found out what really went on here, you were finished.

But maybe things weren’t so bad. Your “Golden Orb” ruse had worked pretty well so far. Maybe it was even strong enough to work on a superhero. You could make her forget why she came here, or even convince her that you’re innocent. If you were careful enough, you could probably convince her of all kinds of things…
