Custom Nerf Hammershot in Steel

Here's a custom Hammershot that I did in a steel coloration.  I tried to make it look a bit aged, but without too much abuse :)   The custom panels on the lower side were added to smooth the design out a bit and make it look less scifi.

What kind of paint did you use?

I bought the Nerf Maverick a long time ago, really fun. This one looks like an improvement and the paintjob/mod you did on it is even more awesome. I love these types of realistic steam punky themes added to the kiddy original Nerf colors; makes em so badass

Stylé le calibre ! Félicitations au créateur 😃

Excellent colour decision, I tire of Nerf revolvers with the Official Nerf Mod Steampunk Colour scheme.

Gun looks great, but in all honesty, having actually used one to play, its accuracy past like 3 feet is absolute horseshit

Reminds me of That Gun from Fallout series and the Boltok revolver from Gears of War

Quite a handsome piece! I was thinking of giving a Sweet Revenge a similar finish.

You should!  I think I'll be doing one soon for a commission, but we're likely to have different approaches and I'd like to see how you tackle it!  Good luck with it!

what materials did you use for the front cover piece? I am guessing some sheet plastics? does it cover all the way around or simply two panels? I love the finished look, may have to gleam some designs with it

That's exactly right.  Styrene on the sides and the bottom with a bit of epoxy clay to fill in any gaps.  It did come out looking pretty clean and you're always welcome to use anything you'd like for your own devices, bud! :)

right on sir. I'll be workin' on a new piece and definitely make sure to get your name on the credits :)

Think this one would be good for a jakob's Style borderland paintjob?

I want to do something like this for the Elite Spectre, make it look like the Torus Judge...

Beautiful job sir. I just got into the world of Nerf modding and I'm about to tackle one of these. Love your solution to the molded on  grip wrapping, and the metal texture. Rub n' Buff?

Thank you Herb!   I actually used an airbrush to lay the base and then some other magic to make it look as much like polished steel as possible.  The grips were one of the things I really didn't care for, but I do think with a bit of detailing the wrap can come out looking fairly functional.   I really hope you'll have fun with yours and please let me know how it goes for ya!

I will thanks! It should turn up here on my DA page sometime after Christmas.

Personally I'm considering grinding off the molded wrapping and covering it with real leather strap.

They certainly are!  I'm glad to have some nice successors to the previous nerf line :)

Have you given the one shotgun type on a try yet? It looks wicked and I sort of want to blow money on one to repaint the ugly blue.

I sure did!  I guess I should post the results, haha.  I'll try to get some photos tomorrow and post the best one here on dA for ya.  Thanks for the reminder! :)
