The Silly Song: The Star Edition
I now present to you…
“The Silly Song”
From “Mary White and the Seven Animals”
It’s nighttime in Bethlehem. Some pygmys outside are looking into a place near Jesus, Mary and Joseph’s home dancing to the music from the party that is going in the field.
In the field, Bo, Dave, Ruth, Edith, Cyrus, Deborah and Felix are singing, dancing, yodeling and playing instruments all having a good time. Mary is having fun too clapping along to the music.
Bo: *high voice* Yodel-adle-ee!
Cyrus: *low voice* Yodel-odle-dee!
Deborah pulls off an impressively long yodel. While she’s doing this, Felix is watching the lump in her throat go up and down.
Dave plays an intro on the organ just before Ruth steps up to Mary.
Ruth: *clears her throat and begins singing* I’d like to dance and tap my hooves, but they don’t keep in rhythm. You see, I washed them all today, and I can’t do nothing with ‘em.
All Animals: *singing* Ho hum. The tune is dumb. The words don’t mean a thing. Isn’t this a silly
