Description

While the Louds are searching the skull cave that leads to Captain Kit's treasure, they try to find an exit as they are lost in the labyrinth. When Lana manages to find animal tracks, it leads them to a family of wolverines, with the mother protecting her babies. Rita, also possessing the same motherly instinct, roars at the wolverine mother when she tries growling at her. Later that journey, Luan accidentally triggers another booby trap, sending the Louds sliding down a deeper section of the maze, splitting them up into three random pathways, one of which Lana and Rita end up with.

The two then heard growling noises coming from the darkness, and out comes yet another wolverine, which to their horror, has the same mother wolverine, dead, in its mouth. It killed the one Rita scared earlier. There's also something odd about this wolverine; It looked less rounded in shape, had a more muscular build, and a face that already says that this animal is clearly not to be toyed with. And most certainly, it is very hungry and desperate for an easy meal. It immediately set its sights on Rita and Lana.

Foolishly, Rita tries doing the same intimidation tactic, but the wolverine isn't having it. This animal lacks awareness, is fully feral, hungry, and lost, and is driven only by the instinct to kill. This animal originated from the alternate universe that Logan, Tony Stark, Emma Frost, and Kira Wagner belonged. Unlike the animals of the current world, the animals there, including this wolverine, are completely instinct-driven and not sapient, and therefore, cannot empathize nor communicate with Lana. It came through the same portal that was located in Camp Mastodon.

It responds by roaring, lunging at Rita with unstoppable fervor, delivering a swipe that knocks her out cold. Lana, who's completely ignorant of wolverines before knowing her affinity for wild animals, is suddenly terrified and finds herself being the wolverine's next target. She ran, but the wolverine briefly caught up and swiped, inflicting a painful scar on Lana's face. Just as she was bracing herself for her inevitable doom, she hears a familiar scream, and following that, Logan tackles the animal, saving Lana.

At first, Logan attempts holding her rage in, preferring fisticuffs to subdue the creature. But when her opponent swipes a chunk of her facial skin, she loses control. Unleashing her berserker rage once more, Logan unsheathes her weapons, the adamantium claws, and begins the real fight, Wolverine to wolverine, with only one of them taking victory and title as the ultimate predator.

Lana isn't prepared for the horrific carnage that came down before her innocuous eyes. Both opponents, given in to their primal and fully animalistic instincts without regard to the little girl, began ripping, rending, and tearing each other to shreds, both roaring, growling, and screeching. Ultimately, Logan emerges triumphant because of her potent healing factor, and splits the wolverine's belly open, spilling its innards. Once regaining control and her rage transformed into melancholic remorse, Logan honors her opponent with a swift and painless death by snapping its neck, putting it out of its misery.

Lynn and Lincoln eventually find their way into the scene, and Lynn couldn't believe the horrific sight shown before her. Her counterpart, simply staring on at her dead opponent, full of melancholy and sadness and exhausted mentally. She expected, as a version of herself, to bask in the victory from defeating her enemy, but instead, she found someone who felt nothing from taking a life, viewing victory as senseless, and killing as either an instinct or a necessary evil. She felt nothing but emptiness and guilt. By taking the animal's life, she is reminded that she isn't any better than the vicious wolverine she put down. A reminder of the horrific trauma she endured in the past, and a reminder of her struggles to reconcile with her humanity. And Lynn Loud Jr. finally understood, why James "Logan" Howlett, is the way she is.

Lana will no doubt be traumatized by what she witnessed that day, putting her "animal loving" nature into doubt.

And seeing the description, I'm sure Lynn Jr. will find common ground and try to get on Logan's good side.

Also, I hope Rita's okay after this.
