Oil on canvas glued to masonite, 24x30"

This is a depiction of the windjammer Pamir entering the Cape Horn. A true windjammer the Pamir was built and launched in 1905 by Blom & Vosss ship yards in Hamburg. She carried a total of 40,900 sq. feet of sail and could reach 16 knots. These windjammers were built for strong winds and extreme weather conditions. The Pamir was the last commercial sailing ship to round the Cape Horn, in 1949. Sadly she was lost in a hurricane in 1957...

Thanks man,and it's only taken about 30 ship paintings before I was happy with one.In doing art one needs to keep after it all the time,do not worry about thinking about having talent, many great artists were successful not so much from talent just a lotalot work...

I know. Good thing for me I'm quick learner. Only thing I need is time which I don't have much during the year. It's never late to start something new.
