Officer Collier was the 26 yr. old who was shot and killed in cold blood on the MIT Campus by the Boston Marathon bombers. He was just a couple of months away from being sworn in as a Somerville police officer, where he began his career. Hits close to home, literally, as Somerville is my hometown. I wanted to pay tribute the only way I really know how- with a drawing.

I drew this in pencil and then colored it in photoshop. I'm sending a print of it to his family. If you'd like to learn a little more about Sean, please check the facebook page, [link]

Thank you for posting this and continuing to tell his story. None of the main stream news sources have really talked about him and it's a travesty. I don't want to hear anymore about the bombers, their story, their motivation or whatever. We need to stop giving platforms to all the evil people in this world and focus on the heroes and the martyrs of this life who've given all to remind this world that there is still good left in it.
So thank you once again and I'll certainly be sharing your work and the memory of Sean Collier as well.

Exactly what my thinking is as well. I also did a sketch of Joe Andruzzi, a former New England Patriot who was helping people right after everything went down. Thanks for the kind words.

This is an amazing piece with real heart and soul. All your other art is as well of course :) but seeing you do something like this at such a rough time in the world is really inspiring. I feel for this brave guy's family and what you've done is amazing.
