Twilight by JoeVeen Twilight by JoeVeen
Here's the watercolor painting that I've been promising to post for awhile now... I started working on this illustration back in November of 2008, so I'm glad that I can finally cross it off my to-do list.

I started with a really simple color palette and added more pigments as I needed them. The two dominant pigments are Rose Madder and Indigo.

The stars were created by flicking Art Masking Fluid onto the background with a brush. Once I was happy with the background, I rubbed the masking off with a Rubber Cement Pick-Up.

Everything else was pretty straightforward.

Actual size: 18.5 x 12.75"

Shot with a Canon PowerShot A590

Here's a video showing the progression: [link]
