Solid Snake by JoeVeen Solid Snake by JoeVeen
I'm heading out of town this weekend, so I've run out of time for this art duel - but I get points for being the first one done. Right?

This illustration is a composite created from my Solid Snake pencil illustration, a loose drawing of some trees, some digitally painted tonal values from Painter X and a half tone created from those same tonal values.

Finished size: 8.5x11"

Enjoy!

Your Snake's armor gives me a sort of samurai-ish feel to it in the way it droops the shoulders. I like the idea of having tape on his arms too, but not in large wrappings that look like they were placed there for style. A better look would have been to illustrate his attempts at field repairs to his damaged suit using whatever he could find lying around. Whatever that dotting style you used in the background is friggin' sharp, and you are good at the dark, gritty feel. But it does look like his eyes are closed... why? Good submission for the duel, and kudos for the long, flowing bandanna!

Thanks for the comments Joe!

His eyes are open - I guess I'm still stuck in the "no one has pupils" Marvel era. :)
