Hired Poisoner

Hired Poisoner card art for Magic the Gathering. Art direction by Cynthia Sheppard. Created in 2017 using Paintstorm Studio. So I played Magic during it's early days and then took a break for a long time and then started paying attention again when I started doing cards. So when I did this piece I thought "oh it's a scenario like Royal Asssassin" but now I realize this composition/scenario of the hitman hiding behind a corner appears in Magic dozens of time. I imagine you could make an entire deck of just cards with this comp on them. Still was great fun to work on and enjoy the film noir vibes of this one.
