She's gorgeous. I love how you've used imperfections to make her look more realistic. She looks like a real person rather than a cover girl.

I know you probably hear about her lack of beard alot, but WOW. She still looks amazing. Very well done.

Trying to draw a dwarf female with beard.. I like yours though they say dwarves all have beards. Eh! Nice work. :)

That is a wonderful piece of artwork! I have been looking online for a visual to go with the mental picture I have of my D&D character, and this is just perfect! Thank you so much!

She looks like she could actually exist, you know, if Dwarves were real. She doesn't look "fantasy" but looks like somebody you might actually meet. really fun.

Guess what? I was looking for a cinnamon-haired with stylized sticked buns, green-eyed, freckled-cheeks female dwarf for my D&D character sheet, then I found your picture...

Thank you very much!

She is totally believable and normal looking. I love how average she looks, but you can tell she's awesome across the board otherwise. Love this.

wow, gr8 illustration, you should make a tutorial for this (v nice hair), or at least show us wip's:D

I'll look into it. The great reformat of 09 may have lost all of my WIP shots. Final file probably still has layers though and I should have a file of the original painting.

would be great! thx

Looked into it and the final file was flattened. Is there anything in particualr you're curious about? I used layer mask to keep the background and character seperate. Used bevel and emboss layer effect on metal bits and skin texture. I believe at the end I created a layer of the image that had a gaussian blur or focal blur and then erased back out of it.

Thx for all the info. I'll try to follow your steps next time I'm creating something on ps. I was wondering about the hair. Did you use regular round brush or something else?
