Very funky. The subtlety and the colour make this. Nicely done.

Impressive! Looks so perfectly rendered! Almost like UF ( I know it is not a .. compliment for Apo-wonder-maker :giggle: )
I like the size - it allows to enjoy details!

Well done MCFaber2 !

This is amazing! And amazingly smooth and silky.

When will this plugin be ready for mass consumption? :D
JoelFaber's avatar
 It's basically ready. I like to play with them for a while to make sure I like the way they work. I don't want to change my mind about it after releasing it because lots of people would get mad at me for making their fractals look different. I might change it yet, but I'm not sure.

You can try the development code if you want (no promises about the quality or compatibility with later releases!) The code is on the sourceforge svn server ;) Send me comments/suggestions!

It's not easy being green. :D

What tools do I need (mentally and software-related) to edit and build plugins?

And are there any linux equivilants for them, do you know?
JoelFaber's avatar
I've been using Code Blocks: [link] It includes an IDE and the compiler. Its a pita to compile windows dlls on Linux. It's possible but you're on your own :)

I opened up, for example, the stripes.dll in CodeBlocks and the only thing it showed was MZ[]

Is this all that the plugin contains? If not, what am I doing wrong? If that's all there is, what does it mean? All settings are default so far, and I downloaded the CodeBlocks coupled with the GCC compiler.

You have to open the source code. Sorry, I figured with linux experience you may have used these sorts of tools before.

No, unfortunately I haven't. I've compiled my current patched kernel with gcc, but that was with help from the Kon Colivas mailing list. I've never been really good with building my own code from scratch, but I can edit the hell out of whatever you put in front of me. I'll try it again, see if I can't figure it out. Thanks JoelFaber.
