It's a long trek over the north pole to Norway from Canada. Otherwise, I'd love to oblige :P

I can see not only bats, also some birds and even a couple of fishes here :sherlock:

and with monochrome palette & white background it looks just like some M. C. Escher's work :)

It's like a marble carving or a stone mural, or something amazing that would be out of reach for most humans to replicate.

incredible detail here Joel, great work as always..as djeaton3162 says..."use of new plugins, or just the standard ones"? (now to drive ourselves barmy working out how you did it! )

:D Thanks Nick!

I used polar2 (final transform), elliptic and an unreleased plugin I called "cells".

:jawdrop: The whole panoply, with the veil of illusion pulled aside... I wonder how it would colour? If it differentiates nicely, it could make a stunning jungle scene.

I don't think that there could really be much dispute about whether this fractal is art. I really like the yin yang effect and all the different types of tesselations and textures. I don't know how you did this, but its awesome. :) Guesses, but probably wrong: is either elliptic or loonie in there?

:iconjoelfaber:
JoelFaber Featured By Owner Jun 7, 2008
Thanks David :) Yes, it uses elliptic.

Even a full view didn't show as much detail as I wanted. A truly beautiful piece. Does it use standard plugins, or some from your secret collection?

:iconjoelfaber:

It only contains plugins: polar2 (final transform), elliptic and an unreleased plugin I called "cells". It will be released in the next apo-plugin release (whenever that will be). :salute:

New, undreamed-for levels of detail and complexity in Apo.

I can see one thing you've done - an altering of the weights between otherwise symmetric parts? I think that makes a big contribution to this piece.

Thanks Neil :)

What you're seeing is different colours, not different weights
