I went to NYC for my art show at the Coco MoCA, and took pictures of the city. This was drawn, mostly from reference, except for where there wasn't reference, because the pictures didn't extend far enough.

It was actually two pictures pieced together, and then other reference to get the building details correct.

This took me about 10 hours (which equals about 40 normal people hours).

Look at it big, or else.

Yay llama on the big screen tv! I'm curious as to why you chose a range of greens for this piece rather than llama colors (or any other colors). I do quite enjoy the tones, though - like the black and white version of "Miracle on 34th Street" or a stereotypical flashback scene from a movie, memories of llamas past and such.

Well, I'll tell ya.
While I was drawing I wanted a flat non-white background and picked a sky color, thinking I would color the buildings and llama and such when I was done, but then, I really liked the monochrome and it reminded me of the patina on the Statue of Liberty and it was reminiscent of monochrome Japanese prints, so I kept it instead of going for a technicolor picture.
