I've been trying to write this blurb for hours now.  But everything I want to say just reiterates what the page says.  Chase is a scumbag.  Emily's mom is somehow debatably worse.  And Emily herself - to understate the glaringly obvious - has had it really rough.

There's still more.  But we're almost through this.  Thank you for sticking with me on this one so far.

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

Frankly Rain you are attractive, but Chase finding you attractive is just... disturbing on many levels.  Kind of wonder how Chase would feel if he knew she was trans. Only thing is yeah, Emily has a bad mom.

Chase already pretty much knows that Rain is trans, although he probably doesn't know what that actually means:
We see him talking to Aiken about it here, and Chase tries to tell Emily a chapter later.

Truely hard to say, but I feel like Chase would be a bit uncomfortable with it.

Thanks for the 2 pager. I know it's intense but I would rather bite the bullet than go 3 days in a cliff hanger for twice as much wary material.

To give some context before I start, I am a strait white male with fairly ridged world views.  I am just about as unqualified to talk on this topic as unqualified can get, but I'd like to get this off my chest. When i started reading this comic, my first thoughts were "Okay, guy trying to be a girl.  Weird."  I had a crush on someone who is trying to be genderless (Sorry if that's the wrong term, I'm still new to this community) and decided to keep reading figuring the least I could do is try and understand it.  Now, almost a thousand pages later, my understanding of the LGBT community has been turned on its head.  I was thinking about this comic the other day and I found myself internally referring to rain as a "she" before realizing "That's not right, 'she' has male reproductive organs and therefore is male."  But then I thought about it and came to the conclusion that referring to her as a "she" was correct as that was what she was, no matter what her genetics said.  Then later on, I was talking with a coworker about their new roommate and how she was transitioning.  Normally my reaction would have been along the lines of "why would anyone do that?" but then this comic came to mind  so my reaction was more of a "good for him" vibe instead. When I said that, my coworker relaxed and I realized that they had tensed up, preparing to defend their friend.  People are forced to fight for every scrap of respect in this community when the thing is, they are who they are and that's okay.  So in short, I wanted to thank you Jocelyn for helping me shift my world view on the "LGBT issue" to a much less sh**ty one.  This comic has helped improve my understanding a lot and I'm really glad you've come back to see it through.  Additionally, anyone else who has loved every last page of this comic like I have and has a few bucks to spare, go over to Patreon and send it her way .  Rain may be a fictional character, but Jocelyn is a very real person and has to buy food like the rest of us.  I would really love to see this comic finished because it has taught me so much and that's the best way I can think of to ensure it.  Thank you Jocelyn for this life-changing comic, thank you to the awesome and supportive community in the comment section and I hope you all find your Rudy's and Emily's and all the other misfits who will stand up for you and make your live just that little bit easier.

Emily just needs a million hugs this chapter. And thank goodness that kid is gonna get raised by Emily who made mistakes and learned from them instead of their creepo sperm donor Chase or emotionally abusive grandmother. Hopefully. If nothing bad happens.

I... Truthfully felt sick hearing about the garbage they went through... I feel so awful for them...

I love the Light/Dark Emily/Rain Angel thing, and I am so glad to see it. One of my favorite "soulmate" hints by authors.

D'awwww, I really like how much of a positive impact that Rain has had on Emily ^_^ .

... Oh and eh, Chase is even more a of monster and creep then we have previously thought ... which surprises no one. Gah, but that sad part is, the worse may still be yet to come. Since, I can't help but think, there still might come the events that elude to the event of Emile becoming impregnated (and somehow I can't imagine how Emily gets to that spot, considering what she has said about Chase recently). ... Sorry for ending on a downer.

Holy (pick a word)! Emily’s mother is a straight up monster. I knew it was bad but emotional abuse on that scale would make me call social services if it was one of my friends. Seeing Emily like this is almost heartbreaking!:(

I totally understand where Emily is coming from, I've known several girls IRL that were in the same position.  Parents trying to live their children's lives and ruin those lives instead.  Parents that should have been horse-whipped.

Well I ready to give MamaEmily the benefit of the soubt, but knowing what kind of person chase is, feeding her daughter to him, and telling her she's not worth better all put her up on the list vying for the top spot with Kellen.

Then again at least Kellen is starting to possibly learn...

I've heard it said that you can't appreciate the light until you've been through the darkness.  Conversely, you don't realize you're in the dark unless you've seen the light.  Emily's at that point now, she realizes where she was and how Rain has become the light in her life.

Thank you for being brave and confident enough to share your stories with us!

Much love,

Is it wrong of me to say Chase and Kellen deserve each other ...... nah even she isn't that bad no one deserves Chase
Luinta Featured By Owner Dec 6, 2017
True no one deserves Chase,  but I still haven't forgiven her for the Convention Weekend...

That last panel is super cute!

I imagine the thing with Rain and Chase wasn't so much 'smitten' and instead was because Rain not only resembles Kellen (a lot) but was curious about the possible relation. Would be something else if he was actually attracted to Rain though, probably would be due to the resemblance to Kellen. But I like this page because I was wondering about a few things specific to it! Poor Emily though, that really is a common story for many kids and teens. It explains so much more about why Emily was the way she was.

How much Emily appreciates Rain is really sweet. Between my own experiences and your description of Emily's life, I feel like I understand her story quite well. I wanna give her a hug and congratulate her on being so vulnerable.
