I'm not an insects person. I mainly find them creepy. I've never attempted to photograph one before properly. But this was for my mum ^^ it was in her garden.



Edted to add: I think this is a Harlequin Ladybird/bug, Harmonia axyridis spectabilis. In which case the title becomes even more appropriate because they are not native to the UK and are out-competing our native species. :noes:

There are tons of different kinds - the next week we saw a cream coloured one with brownish spots, but it was too skittish to photograph unfortunately!

I cant remember the last time I saw one here, it was in some lettuce leaves, so I set it free on my indoor plants.

Last Sunday I saw a Cream Spot ladybird in the back garden which is a native species, so all is not lost!
