Ever since I saw Guardians of the Galaxy last friday my creative side has been firing on all cylinders. Today I got my hands on some floral wire and sculpy clay and made myself a Baby Groot! I think start to finish the project took me about 10 hours. Usually projects like this last several days for me, so I feel really accomplished that I sculpted, baked, and painted this little guy all in one day. The pot he is in is temporary. I'm gonna try to find one that looks a bit more like the one in the movie. I hope you guys like him!

I WANT TO BUY A GROOT!!!
My Baby Groot sculptures are NOW ON SALE!!! Click on the Etsy link below.

This looks great.
I was looking to make a dancing version myself but was unsure of how to make the head.
Is there any specific type of clay you used? Recommendations would be helpful.
Again great job :)

I used white Original Sculpey clay.  It's soft until you bake it.  You can find it in most craft stores.
On mine there is a thin layer of clay over an aluminum foil and wire armature. I did that to add support during sculpting.

Go to the nearest movie theater, buy a ticket for the next showtime of Guardians of the Galaxy, watch the movie, everything will make sense after that.  You're welcome ;)

Be careful one production studio got hit by a cease and desist letter

As a fellow artist and crafter I think it is bs but would hate for anyone to get in trouble for creating beautiful pieces like this.

la in love WOW! Amazing. I wanted to do the same thing straight after I watched the movie but with felt and one of those dancing flowers. You know the ones right? I'm far too impatient to make it myself tho but maybe an idea.
Also you should sell them on Etsy. Etsy Social Smiley
