Devil Tree

Media: Watercolours, inks, coloured pencils and acrylics on watercolour paper

This is a piece I had completed once before back in college, though the execution was not so good as this. I have lately rewritten and redrawn the story for professional publication as I feel the idea was too good to let pass away into complete obscurity. The poem featured is (of course) also written by me and titled the same as the comic story. As for the style used, it is something a bit new for myself and inspired, in part, by the work of Akihiko Yoshida (of Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics and XII fame). Unfortunately, these images do not show the details of the coloured pencils so well, but they look wonderful on higher resolution images. Verily, I think this will be a style I will continue to use in addition to my painting style of acrylics and molding paste (though I may attempt some coloured pencils there as well). Hope you enjoy the work.

Happy Halloween,

Thank you for the compliments. I very much enjoyed creating this piece, and I'm glad you enjoyed reading it. Again (as stated above) its something I had done years before and felt the idea was just too good to abandon. Always good to hear someone agrees.

Thank you. Again I just loved the idea too much to not take the opportunity to do it again now that I've progressed more in my art and writing. Glad you enjoy it too.
