My first recollection of drawing was through the guidance of my Grandfather drawing post cards and Christmas cards.
At Secondary School my talents were nourished by my art teacher and Artist Alan King.
I attended College, where I left with an NC Drawing and Painting. The portfolio I produced from this course helped me gain entry to the prestigious Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, in Dundee.
After graduating with an Honours Degree in Illustration and Printmaking I went on to achieve a Master of Design in Illustration.
I attended University where I increased my knowledge and design skills with a BA Hons in Computer Animation and Digital Art.
I have also completed an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design.
Since Graduation I have exhibited in various exhibitions throughout the UK and parts of Canada where I worked and traveled in 2005 and 2010.
I was the featured Artist drawing Paul Ferris’s portrait in the Channel 5 documentary MacIntyre’s Underworld and I have had my work published in various publications including Heavy Metal magazine.
I enjoy painting and drawing portraits and figures usually with a gritty narrative with characters you might meet in the street. Contemporary life, popular culture, comics and films are influential in the scenes I set my characters in.
I am influenced by many Artists including Norman Rockwell, Peter Howson, Salvador Dali, HR Giger, Edgar Degas, Dave McKean and Lucian Freud.
I work with various mediums including oil, acrylic, charcoal, colour pastel, photography, Photoshop. Illustrator, and LightWave to produce my art.
