Trevor (Ralph) Belmont from Castlevania 3. I did this waaay back in October right after finishing my Simon fan art, but after being totally uhappy with Lords of Shadow's ending, I was completely discouraged from completing it. Finally started to get back into the mood this week, so here it is!

I thought Trevor should be a little burlier than Simon, a bit more armored, but similar in theme. Since Trevor was the first Belmont to actually have a headband on his character sprite, I incorporated it into his design. Like Simon, his coloration is meant to be pretty close to his NES colors, so mostly yellows and browns.

I was really unhappy with Kojima's redesign of Trevor for Curse of Darkness. Although her rendition of Simon in Chronicles was a little offbeat, at least it was original. Her Trevor, on the other hand, was largely just brown Richter... between those two, Juste, and Leon, I was just about fed up with how the Belmonts were shaping up, to be honest.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I actually liked Obata's Trevor from Judgment. His colors were about right, he had his headband, he wore armor, and was generally appropriately manly and rugged. The ridiculous belts and buckles were a bit much, though...

I've got Grant, Sypha, and Alucard coming down the pipeline, maybe later this week. Much like Trevor, I've tried to keep them close to their NES roots as much as possible, while incorporating some of the newer elements of Kojima and Obata for each of them. Perhaps ultimately I'll do a group pic of the whole Dracula's Curse gang. We'll see.

oh lol you did Trevor, ignore my last comment on your other work - this is just brilliant :) I like how they look similar because they are related but you have Trevor his own tough looking style, he looks rugged and battle worn!

Another masterpiece :)

Yeah, I thought they should half something of a family relation, since their sprites were so similar.

Glad you like it!

all I can say is, just WOW!... I really like your style here, it definitely makes him look more masculine than the Kojima version!... I'm actually speechless!... so let's just say this is Amazing!...

Yeah, Ayami Kojima's designs kind of got away from her after a while. I thought all of her Symphony designs were rock-solid, but I guess the marketing department made her their bitch, then threw her out for some animu stuff to reel in the kiddies. Kind of reminds me of what happened to Tetsuya Nomura, actually. But you have to admit that Julius Belmont, at least, looked boss as hell.

I like the dynamics of the picture. But if we're talking Castlevania III, there need to be about four hundred Medusa Heads crammed into the picture before it's even remotely accurate.

Meh, even her Symphony stuff is hit or miss, when you actually look at the characters she was supposed to be rendering; she basically just transformed anybody she touched into a long haired Victorian poof. It works with Alucard, because vampires are all poofs anyway, but Richter? Dude was a total badass in Dracula X! The whole smexy, open shirt, come hither stare bit really didn't suit him, especially considering they didn't even take the time to change his sprites.
I personally prefer that they keep pulling in new and different artists for the franchise, keeps things fresh.
Also, animu? When did you become an internet?
