I almost never know what I'm going to paint.  I never know the subject matter.  I sit down, choose some colors and start messing up the canvas until I see something.  Once I see something, I pull what I see out of the painting.  Then I start thinking about perspective, lighting, colors, and what else would live in the painting.  I simply love the chaos.
