could i be more of a nerd?
...hm, Geoff as McCoy...
*ahem* I'm sorry, I drifted off; what were we saying?
I'm female, in my mid twenties, and I was born and raised in the Dundee area of Scotland. I would consider myself spiritual but analytical, and I have a set of unique and wonderful friends whom I love. I'm currently recovering from a bad bout of depression and my marriage breaking up. I have a lovely new boyfriend who's been such a help at this time.
I graduated with honours in Time Based Art and Digital Film, but when people ask I say I did a film course; it's just faster. I've worked as a video editor, a community artist, and I volunteer regularly at a local youth work organisation. I love it.
I love filmmaking, wolves, kittens, Chinese food, writing, illustrating, my friends, Florence and the Machine, rock music in general, and misc. geeky things like star trek, red dwarf, red vs blue, webcomics, and PC gaming. Mostly star trek. I mean I respect star wars and everything, but I freaking adore star trek.
I spend most of my time at my university counselling course, enjoying Achievement Hunter Let's Plays, or building elaborate mansions in Minecraft. The rest of the time I spend on my art work, writing novels, hanging with friends/boyfriend, or playing through Black and White 1 and 2 for the billionth time.
I draw as a hobby, and it's something I've always enjoyed. I soon discovered that fine art and illustration were difficult courses to get into, however, and ended up doing film, which I loved even more. Narrative film, where I get to write a script and see my tale come alive on screen, is one of the most satisfying things I've ever done, albeit extremely time consuming and frustrating. I really love writing (aside from editing it's my favourite part of filming) and I hope to publish a few novels in my time. I've also gone back to uni to do counselling and hope it will help me further my youth work career.
Feel free to browse my web site, including all of my films, a comic series I did for a college magazine, my honours year dissertation on the literary origins of Beauty and the Beast, and plenty of handmade crafts and prints.
