It was a sunny Tuesday morning and George Beard was gathering all his stuff for school until he heard a knock at the door, as he hurried to open the door it was none other than his best friend Harold Hutchins.
"Hey George, ready to go?" Harold asked. "Sure am, also I came up with a whole new idea for our next issue of Captain Underpants after school!" George replied with a smile. "Incredible, can't wait to work on it," Harold smiled. George grabbed his skateboard, then he and Harold went off the school. At last, George and Harold arrived at Jerome Horwitz elementary school and went inside where a bunch of kids were going to their lockers or heading to class.
"Ready to get this day over with?" asked Harold to George. "Yeah, let's just hope Krupp doesn't ruin it," George responded, under his breath. The two boys went inside their Homeroom class (Which was science) and noticed one big disappointment in front of them: Melvin Sneedly. Melvin was the boys' rival since kindergarten and the school's number one genius, not to mention that he is obsessed with getting extra credit in his work, not having a sense of humor, and being the biggest tattletale towards the boys.
"Melvin's back, like we don't need that for our day before Mr. Krupp ruined it," George groaned. George and Harold walked to their desks and tried to ignore Melvin.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't my two unfavorite classmates: George and Harold," Melvin said with anger. "How was three weeks in the hospital Melvin?" Harold asked.
"They were amazing, I got to stay away from you two morons and only saw you once from my visits," Melvin replied. "Hey our moms made us go to the hospital to see you," George argued back. Just then the new science teacher came in; she was a tall teacher with half back length black hair, had a dark blue shirt dress with black and green pin-striped leggings, and she had on blue flats.
"I'm your new science teacher, my name is Mrs. Luna Ellis," introduced Mrs. Ellis. The class was glad that she wasn't as bad as Professor Poopypants when he was their teacher, plus she did had great lessons in stored for the students, that even George and Harold were looking forward to learning.
"You know Harold, I think we found the perfect teacher that isn't try to bore us," whispered George. "Me too, Mrs. Ellis seems like a nice lady, I don't think we need to prank this class," Harold agreed.
"George, Harold I know you two see that class is about to end but please finish your work and enough talking," Mrs. Ellis reminded the two boys.
Soon every kid was finished with their work right before the bell rang for the next class. "Okay class, for homework I would like you to turn in a three page report on two different periodic elements you chose by Thursday," Mrs. Ellis announced. George and Harold met up with each other by their lockers and got what they needed to make the rest of their school day more better for them and the kids that were suffering through boredom.
"Got your prank collection all set?" Harold asked. "What about your plans?" George asked. The two boys agreed with each other and set off to their next class; History. Before the teacher and students arrived, Harold explained that he'll leave behind dish soap behind the teacher's desk while George placed molasses on the books and chalk. Unfortunately for the two friends, there was two hidden nanny cams in the classroom, one was a turtle while the other was the usual teddy bear, finally, the bell ring and class begun. Ms. Ribble came entering the class, while George and Harold were trying to keep their laughter in. "Attention class for I have two announcements," Ms. Riblle announced, "for all you know that Melvin Sneedly is back from the hospital, and we have a new student to this school. Come right up to the front."
The new student was a girl, she had black hair where it had a green hairband on top, she was wearing a midnight blue sweater that made it look like she was in a private school, underneath her sweater, she had on a seafoam green blouse with a jade green tie, a black skirt, sky blue stockings, and she had on black flats on her feet.
"Her name is Laura Ellis, she is Mrs. Ellis's daughter and try to make her feel comfortable at this school," explained Ms. Ribble, "and don't even think of try to persuade her to get Mrs. Ellis to change your grade!" Laura went to go choose a desk right next to Melvin, but as just she was about to sit down, her foot pressed on a loose floorboard which then released a bucket of rotten egg yolks on Ms. Ribble, then she slipped to the back of her desk where she fell face-first on the floor as she tried to get up but the dish soap was preventing her.
This event really surprised George and Harold that they laughed their pants off till they cried tears of laughter and was on the ground, rolling and making the whole class (All but Melvin and Laura) laugh too. "Did I do something wrong?" wondered Laura. "No it's just one of their pranks that they do here," Melvin answered.
At last, Ms. Ribble stood up and had a raging look on her face towards the boys, which silenced everyone. "Mr. Krupp's office, now!" Ms. Ribble cried in anger. The two boys left their class and walked to Principal Krupp's office, hoping that he won't torture them badly now.
As they entered, Mr. Krupp was filling out some paperwork for Miss Anthrope to file afterwards. "Why if it isn't George and Harold, what did you do this time?" Mr. Krupp asked sinisterly. "We uh, sort of caused another prank in class," Harold confessed. "But even if the prank was our idea, it was set off by us," George explained, "Laura set off our prank, unexpectedly." "Mrs. Ellis's daughter? But even if you are explaining what happened, it was your boys' prank," Mr. Krupp replied.
George and Harold looked at each other with worried faces and hoped that they wouldn't receive a bad punishment, as their principal stood up from his chair and walked towards the boys. "For causing a prank in class during a new student's arrival and trying to get out of it, you two boys will clean up the basketball court and lunchroom during recess and after school for the next four weeks starting on Thursday," Mr. Krupp declared, with a smirk on his face.
George and Harold were disappointed about their punishment as they left Mr. Krupp's office and he began to laugh maniacally. "Well that seems harsh, I can't stand this anymore Harold," George said, with his arms crossed. "C'mon George, we just have to make sure this doesn't happen towards our pranks but then again it was funny," Harold replied, comforting George. Then the two began laughing again
It was reaching to the middle of the school day and the students were out playing for recess, while inside the school Mr. Krupp was going to talk to Mrs. Ellis about how her first day as the new sciences teacher was going until he accidentally bumped into the school's lunch lady, Edith. "Edith!" Mr. Krupp cried out. "Oh sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you, I guess you don't like clumsy staff members," Edith sadly said. Edith stood up and as she was about to solemnly leave, Mr. Krupp called her back; "No, no, no accidents happen all the time. W-what brings you here to see me?"
Edith came back and pulled out a small red tuppware from her apron and cleared out her throat. "I decided to make something new for you so I made these chocolate chip cookies hope you don't mind," Edith answered. Mr. Krupp took hold of the tuppware of cookies, opened it up and saw that they were shaped like the sun, moon, a crystal heart, and stars.
"They look unique," Mr. Krupp answered sheepishly. "Yup, finding the Crystal heart and sun cookie cutters took two days to find," Edith explained. "I suppose that since you took your time, the cookies are appetising," Mr. Krupp smiled akwardly.
"I also have an extra tuppware, do you know anyone who would want them?" Edith asked shyly. "Ww-well Mrs. Ellis might like them, why don't we go take them to her as a welcome gift?" Mr. Krupp suggested. Edith agreed with
Mr. Krupp, (Even though she was blushing) and they went to go deliver Mrs. Ellis her welcome cookies.
