Space Race

A few words on this work of mine:

This is old. Really old!
Space Race was an older project of mine that I completed many years ago (long before I even joined DeviantArt) in one of my early attempts to publish a story. Unfortunately it didn't get the attention I hoped and i don't blame anyone. Haha, now that I look at it, I can see that it has some flaws, I still wasn't much experienced with digital tools (not to mention that the lineart is completely done with real inks and it shows in some panels with a couple of jerky lines) ,the coloring was done entirely using a mouse!!! (i didn't even have a stylus back then!!!!), and towards the end it shows a few signs of fatigue, as I decided to wrap things up quickly and reject some complex ideas I had for the story, which I still feel some regret for doing so. Maybe part of the problem is that I was so passionate about doing this that I neglected to think the storyline more thoroughly and just drew stuff!!! Ouch!!!

Nevertheless, I really loved every minute of it, still love the characters I created for this one and now after years of collecting dust, I realized that it wouldn't do any good just keeping it for myself. Who knows maybe a few of you might like reading about the heroes' misadventures and maybe it will give me a reason to revisit them drawing new stuff!

So i present you this "lost" comic book of mine, called "SPACE RACE". The main story involves a quirky band of characters living in Earth of the far future (if I had to give the exact date that would be around... 3012 A.D.) in a sci-fi world full of aliens and robots and their attempt to reach an... "Intergallactic Stadium" where the greatest music event of the Galaxy, the "Space Race tour" is taking place and dealing with all sorts of strange problems during their journey. (and the title also is a play on words, describing their race to their destination)
Another basis for the whole project was actually the "Wizard of Oz", a favorite of mine! (so just imagine that instead of Dorothy trying to reach Oz, we have these guys, trying to reach a stadium, )

Well initially it was going to be a longer journey but I found out the hard way that it's not an easy task to create a huge comic book, haha! But I guess 90 pages are not bad either!

So,
I will begin translation of the comic book pages in english, so more people will now be able to read this and I hope some of you will enjoy the story. I will post pages regularly in my gallery but you won't find them in the "FEATURED" folder so make sure you check the "SPACE RACE" folder for new pages.

I will also share a small .... ummm... "commentary", info about the creation of the page and the storyline in general when I feel it's necessary, (something like a "behind-the-scenes", haha) but if anyone is interested for more please feel free to share thoughts and comments and i'd love to discuss with you.
