UW Dungeon - Rest by JimLiesman UW Dungeon - Rest by JimLiesman
It was an empty room in the dungeon. It wasn't submerged underwater, as it was one of the few air pockets the dungeon had. The light was pretty decent for an isolated room--like almost every other place in the dungeon, as lighting was always a mysterious thing the dungeon had. Silence surrounded the room, but then slowly a bubbling sound could be heard. It was from the corner of the room. There was a square-shaped hole that's submerged--it connected the air pocket with the flooded zone of the dungeon. Small bubbles started to took form, from several little ones and gradually became bigger. Then a silhouette appeared under the water. It became bigger and bigger until it came out from the water--it was a blonde, short haired female elf.

"Phuaahhh! Cough, cough... Oh, how I missed breathing freely like this..." Drenched, the Elf crawled out of the hole and then lied down on the cold floor. But her body which was only protected by a rather thin underwear was already getting used to the coldness of the dungeon.

"Puah!" Several seconds later, the red-haired Bunny girl followed the Elf. From how she easily controlled her breath after taking a really long dive, one could see that she was rather experienced in traversing around the Underwater Dungeon, "Lady Elf, you did really good for a new explorer of the Underwater Dungeon. Many promising people couldn't handle the harsh environment of the Dungeon and chose to use the 'Escape' spell," she giggled.

"You mean it?" The Elf looked a bit happy after Bunny's compliment, "But even after I did all that strict training in the monastery, I still have a lot of difficulties adapting in the underwater environment... It is really harsh."

"No, I gotta agree with Bunny. For a newcomer, you and the knight did pretty good," Suddenly the Demon girl with crimson red eyes already sat beside them after coming out of the hole.

"Hmmm, is that so. Oh," The Elf looked like she just realized something. She then clapped her hands in front of her face while facing the Demon girl, "Little Demon, thank you very much for saving me earlier! I don't know what'll happen if you didn't protected me..."

At first, the Demon seemed surprised. But then she laughed loudly, "Wahahahaha! It is but a small matter. You mages should just stick to your spellcasting, I will handle all the protecting! But then again, I couldn't survive without Bunny's potion. Those are really handy, aren't they?"

"It is my best selling merchandise in this dungeon," Once again the Bunny giggled, "I didn't give it for free though~ Lady Demon, you should remember that all the items, even though it was bought from me, are actually from Sir Knight's inventory."

The Demon nodded, "Now you've mentioned it, that human boy is a really good leader... He's pretty collected in every situation and could choose the better options in battle. He's also already adapted pretty well to the underwater environment. Was he a big shot or something, Elf?"

"He had a lot of experience, yes," Replied Elf, "We were together a lot in our childhood in the monastery, but when we're teenager he decided to go to the Knight's Academy. I heard his name several times when the elder was talking about the war... Then years later he just appeared out of nowhere and asked me to go with him in a journey... I guess he is a bit weird."

"You two sure know each other pretty well," Said the Bunny.

Suddenly, The Elf got a bit flustered, "W-we're just childhood friends, okay? No more than that, okay?"

"Oh, look. Speak of the devil," The demon grinned as she looked at a huge figure coming out of the hole in the corner.

Clueless and drenched, the knight walked towards the girls and asked what were they talking about.

"Nothing! Definitely not about you, okay?!"

As the Elf was looking a bit mad, the others laughed. The confused Knight just stood there, dumbfounded.

Then they decided to rest for a bit there--mainly sleeping and eating. The Knight who sat a bit further from the girls, could realize how close they've gotten. After that battle, looks like their bonds were getting stronger. They started out as a random party, but who could guess they actually complement each other very well. The Knight worked together with many people in his time of service in the Order, and he was sure that this party is a group that he could count on. He was sure that they could reach the deepest part of the dungeon and find the treasure there.

"Hey, you Iron-head! Why are you staring at us like that?"

The Knight snapped out of his thoughts as the Elf shouted at him. But then the Elf smiled while offering a black-water yam--a rare kind of yam that only grows in the Underwater Dungeon, and the primary food of the explorer of the Underwater Dungeon.

"Why don't you come here and eat with us? You looked sad, sitting on the corner alone like that, you know?"

As the Elf said that, the other also looked at the Knight with smiles on their lips. The Knight nodded and then moved to sit close to them.

I wonder if the bunny is willing to teach water adaptation classes to the rest of the party (for a fee of course).

After looking at their potential, probably she won't do that. They're doing really good by themselves ^_^
