Technical question: how do you scan your photos? Do you scan the negative or the developed photographs?

i scan the prints i get from the lab; i am currently thinking of getting a negative scanner though... it'll save some money in the end i think. the good ones are very, very expensive though (like insanely expensive), but i've been told that this one might be a good one (and it's reasonably priced too) [link]

Yes a negative scanner would definitely save some money. I checked them out a while ago but I gave up on getting one for now. I heard about the Epson V500 too, I don't know which one is better though. If you get one, let me know how it works, I'm really curious about those.

i was told by *citizenfour (who's been guiding me through this negative scanner jungle) that once you start scanning you have a huge, huge problem on your hand: dust! a lot of time has to be dedicated to cleaning up the negs, both before and after scanning.
this puts me off a little; i hate cleaning up images :D

Yes, I know, I hate that too! And I already see dust on the scans I make of my photos so I can't imagine what it would be like with a negative scanner ^^;

i clean my scanner everytime before scanning my holga prints, and they still end up looking like the dust bunnies had a shedding party all over them :omg:

I know! I think dust is hiding in a corner waiting for the best moment to come out and spread all over the prints!

i know having two kitty litter boxes near my work space probably doesn't help with the dust either :lmao:

Väldigt suggestivt med havsstranden och mörkret runtom och den rödaktiga tonen. Jättefint!
