Eyldram Goes Fishing by jfDoyon Eyldram Goes Fishing by jfDoyon
Eyldram is enjoying the summer weather :)

This was June's vote incentive for my webcomic, "Heroes (or not)" . It was also me practising anatomy, especially muscles <.<

A new vote incentive should be up later tonight, or tomorrow or something.

This is pretty neat! I figure since I often draw shirtless men, it would be easiest for me to comment on this picture.

First off, you seem to have a good grasp of anatomy. I also think your use of perspective is spot on. I only have a few gripes. I feel like his head is either a bit too large, or elongated. I think it would help if you moved the eyes and nose down a bit. Lastly, more highlights and shadows would really help bring this to life. Great job all around!

Hi :) I'm glad you liked the overall piece!

The head is elongated on purpose - this is a stylistic choice as a homage to European comic books such as Asterix and Obelix, Lucky Luke etc.

For example:   - everyone pretty much has a big chin in those comics lol

I think you're right about the shading though. I could have used more of it, or make it darker. I'll keep that in mind :)

Thank you for the feedback!

I realize it may be a stylistic choice, but it isn't executed in the same manner as those comics.

I feel like your head doesn't match the style of the rest of him. As in, if you're going for exaggerated features, you should make sure other features like eyes and noses are exaggerated as well.
But in the end, it is your choice, that's just my two cents.

No problem!

You do have a valid point regarding the other features and proportions being "normal" in comparaison.

I will definitely take your comments in consideration :)

Thanks again!
