I always wanted to create a group shot of the heroes of the Young Protectors webseries:…
So I figured that maybe a fan art piece showcasing the major players of the Comic, with some shock value added, would suffice.
I think of this as maybe what Cover Art for a trade paperback would look like.. or a publicity poster.
I spent FAR too much time coloring this artwork, as I am still getting a feel for Photoshop.
What better way to prepare oneself for possibly taking on digital commissions than practicing with some sultry controversial man-on-man action?

Thank you! can you believe that someone was actually trying to give me flack for making Kyle seem so... enthusiastic because that's not his personality?? Like, duh, this is FAN ART. I will draw the characters as I please lol
I posted a semi-inked sketch on some facebook group I'm in. I got a TON of great feedback, but it's always the jokers that cause a lasting stink.

I spend a fair amount of time on Tumblr.  I have seen people LOSE THEIR MINDS over their favorite characters, and get in huge fights over their "fanons"  (Fan Canon characterizations).  If you're getting hate, it only means that you're successful and famous.  So congratulations!

Thank you! figuring out how to render drawings like this gives me inspiration that I might be able to do away with lineart in photoshop altogether! Make it look like a painting!
