Pyra Colour Concept

Been thinking about how I can make Ignite better lately as I feel the style is getting a bit old. So I have been doing some shading and colouring concepts. There are also some background concepts that I have been working on recently as well (mainly how to better draw trees and grass).

I think this style of shading better suits me cause I am extremely pedantic and block shading gets me sitting there for ages getting it just right.

The lineart is rough and won't be translated to the comic. I just wanted to get that part out of the way so I could focus on colour and shading.

And a little about Pyra. . . .

Pyra is a fire dragon with a hot attitude. But although her temper can be short she is usually a fun loving, friendly dragon. She wears an enhancement crystal with a protection spell on it. So if danger is near it will react and sometimes spontaneously make inexperienced wearers attack with enhanced abilities above their level of skill.
