So I tried a thing.  I still have a lot to learn about lighting and composition.. getting the fire effects and glowy parts was difficult.  I think it turned out alright though.

URK ok i help i help. Try kinda like maybe using burn than heal than blur on the end of the wings than making it darker with a transparent black????  same with the beak also try and make the lion bird look a darker shade because it stands out alil too much

haha thank you!  I'll remember that tip for next time!  I'm just going to forget about this one and call it a fail.  I'll do better on my next one. :D

That is the spirit! you don't have to call it a fail though until you look back on it and laugh for now its a start.

Please note I am not trying to be rude.

The wings look out of place and the light levels of the animal, and background make it seem out of place again.

I agree, it does look weird.  I wish I could figure out how to fix it though.  It just looks off and I don't have any clue what mistakes I've made or how to avoid them on my next attempt.  I'm sure if I keep trying, I'll get better at it.

I think personally i would burn the part where the wing connects to the body then use the blur to mold it in and possibly just cover the wing with a semi transparent blakc or dark brown???

Yeah, I'll probably do that for next time.  This one though is going in the mental "trash bin".  It's something to learn from, but I don't think I'll be fixing it. :3  Thanks for the tips!

I know you will get better at it.

Maybe I should try some non-mythical animals first before I try something like this again haha

Yeah, that might help.

Thanks!  There's just something about it that looks weird to me though. I can't put my finger on it. XD

The wings and the animal look very strange, but other it looks great!

Looks good!  I always look at photos and references even with photo-manipulation (or composite work I think is the other term for it?) so I can get the feeling right (I mean with photo-manipulation you can pretty much do ANYTHING but at the same time there has to be at least some realism to it since you're using photos right?)  Anyway for your first attempt or so it looks great :D

That makes sense!  I'll try that.. it's hard to find references for gryphons though since they're not real XD  I really hope I can do better on my next photomanip. ^^

Yeah gryphons are hard to find lol This was a great first try :D My first few were icky XD
