Hello again! I’m here from my free comments forum: https://forum.deviantart.com/showcase/thumbs/2561449

More lovely stippling! I think of the two pieces that you shared on the forum, this one is my favourite. The splashes of colour make it really impactful, and I absolutely love the treatment of the wrinkles around the eyes and brows. I also really love the way you’ve drawn the nose, and the stretchers in the ears are really well handled too.

In terms of constructive feedback, I think that your highlights could have maybe been a little stronger in places – particularly on the tip of the nose, and on the teeth and tongue. The horns too could’ve done with a little bit more shading and highlights – they look a little flat to me compared to the rest of the piece.

Anatomically, this piece works better for me since your subject is a demon and thus is perhaps more suited to exaggerated features. I would again say that the eyes are a little too large, but that’s a personal preference – you do you!

You clearly put a lot of work into this one, and it definitely paid off! I think in terms of general advice, I would say that adding colour is a good way to add impact and give the eye a focal point. I think that’s the main reason that this piece is more impactful than your other piece. Keep an eye on your anatomy, and make sure your light and shadows are consistent.

I hope something here helped, and keep on creating

Cheers,

CC
