I love these poses😂😂😂 While DIC's Mario design is ugly asf I love how you captured it so perfectly and it would be so funny if he was a costume in Mario Maker😂😂

I think everyone lowkey has a love-hate relationship for this Mario lol

Only up close!!! But I wasn't talking about in-game sprites, I meant Mario's artwork design. DiC's Mario is ugly no matter how u draw him, but Super Mario World's artwork of Mario is cute.

There’s NO WAY you are making this into a commercial product! The chances of such a project as this seeing the light of day are slim to nada. The “Mario” franchise is Nintendo’s flagship, and the character of Mario is the company’s mascot. And giving the DiC cartoons a video game adaptation would be an insult to anyone who knows Mario from Nintendo’s own output. So don’t even think about tarnishing the company’s public image!!

Sallen, stop being such a dickhead and let him draw Mario however he wants to. Like god damn stfu u aren't Nintendo, dont be telling the artist what he can and cant do.

I never said I was making this into a commercial product! I am doing this for my son who loves the show, I am just sharing my work in progress with everyone. It is my sons wish to share this with everyone, it is all out of fun my friend. As for tarnishing the companies image, why would I be responsible for that? I do not work for them, this is a project I am doing for my son. This project will see the light of day because no now one can stop me, even if I took all this content down I will still be working on it on my free time. Also I am bad mother when it comes to art and animation, so if you liked Ducktales remastered you will like this even better, I did a great job on Ducktales I will do an even better job on the Supermario game. Just you wait and see!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I said what I said because I think it would not be legally possible to create a video game based on DiC's Super Mario cartoon shows. Nintendo would not approve the project, and would shoot it down at the first available opportunity. It has rejected various movie and comic book deals concerning its properties in the past, and has generally not allowed its franchises to exist on video game platforms other than its own.

If Nintendo did allow a project like the one you happen to be making, you'd have to get permission from not only that company, but also DHX Media, which is the current rightsholder to the works of DiC. A video game based on one of the Mario cartoon shows would, if placed on store shelves in conjunction with games made by Nintendo itself, confuse not only children, but anyone who is so familiar with the original depictions of the characters in the games that he/she cannot believe they were ever designed differently at some point in the first place.

So maybe I should just accept what you're doing as a mere fan project, with no prospect for official authorization...

Are you getting permission from Nintendo because you are doing a ton of work for it.

I want no money for this, it is just for fun and for my son. So what exactly are you doing? I mean you are making a television series based of the work? you seem to want to prospect authorization, why are you giving me shit?

Believe me, I know Nintendo is probably not going to accept what I've created. My work and all the hordes of other dedicated "Mario" fanworks known to exist on the Internet will remain mere fan creations. My work is not, in any way, shape, or form, a spin-off of the DiC cartoons. It is an alternate-universe reinterpretation of the video games themselves. Besides, DiC's Mario cartoons did not mean anything to Nintendo.

your are still making a spin off of Nintendo's property! I do not care how you put it, in the end you describe these characters as we know them.
