The time is almost upon us for the 10th Annual Critmas celebration. (That's not a misspelling - the Crit stands for Critique.) Last year was the biggest and craziest ever!
WHAT IS CRITMAS?
Critmas is an annual challenge of generosity to write at least 12 critiques between December 24 and January 6. It's about giving the gift of feedback to our fellow deviants, it's fun, and there's prizes!
Although traditionally the majority of participants are members of the literature community, ALL deviants are encouraged to join, and you can write your critiques for ANY deviation regardless of medium.
And it's a team sport! Any individual who writes at least 12 critiques is a winner, but teams also work together to beat the other teams for total number of critiques. In past years this has led to some fun shenanigans and maybe a touch of insanity.
SOUNDS FUN, WHAT'S NEXT?
The talented BeccaJS invented Critmas and ran it for 9 years, and this year is taking a well-earned break. The CRLiterature team is forging forward, but we are looking for some help. Read on for how you can get in on the fun, now and during the main event.
An official sign-up journal will be forthcoming once we have more details about this year's challenge to share. If you'd like to receive a note when sign-ups begin, please let me know.
HOW CAN I HELP?
1. Captain a Team!
There will be 4 teams and each must have a leader. It will be your job to encourage your team and develop strategies to defeat the other teams. The details of how you do this is up to you, but to do it successfully you should plan on communicating with your team often throughout Critmas. Past Critmas experience is preferred but not required. Note me if you are interested - we would like to have Team Captains identified by December 1.
Every good challenge needs prizes. For points donations, click here (there is also a donation widget on my profile page). Other prizes are also welcome - features, gift cards, Core memberships, commissions, prints, fun and interesting items... send me a note with what you're thinking.
Help spread the word through your status updates, journals, and groups. Share this journal now and make sure you're watching CRLiterature to see and share future Critmas updates.
