Holy mare

Grey!

---------------
The farm was stirring very early that Saturday morning. It was 5:00am, Colin was tidying the barn and preforming his daily tasks. The horses were all inside - even Phanny. They had a few extra stalls and the night would be cold. Colin decided she didn't need to be there alone out there and brought her in. Colin grumbled, as the horses whinnied for their morning grain. He jogged to the feed room, grabbing the pails of grain, scurrying around to make sure all the horses had their food. While they munched, he joined Jessica and Melissa in cleaning the tack. "Can you believe Pearla is coming home already?" Melissa began, "IT seems like just yesterday she's left. Not 3 weeks!" Colin simply shrugged and continued with work. "At least she sent over a few ponies for you, Mel" he said, "You've got your hands full!" Melissa smiled, she sure did!

Colin began turning the horses out. Jessica had offered to help him, so they walked Phanny and Z to the out-backs. "Do you know if Pearla said she was bringing another horse?" Jessica asked "For some reason I thought she hinted it in last time she called" Colin continued walking Z "Maybe. It's not unlikely for her to show up with another. But I mean, we could use a few more additions. Only 4 stalls are being used and Phanny is living int he out-backs. You know?". Jessica agreed.

Pearla drove into the estates late in the afternoon. It was nearly 5:30. The sun was sinking, sending a wild chill over the dark earth. She pulled in with her little blue trailer. A low nicker arose from the steel. Jessica poked Colin and grinned. Colin chuckled to himself. Oh Pearla he said under his breath. Pearla emerged from her truck bubbly as can be. She didn't say anything she just quickly ran to the back of the trailer. She unloaded a humongous grey mare. Everyone gasped. The mare stood at at least 17 hh tall. She was a beautiful silver with a dark underbelly and light dappling on her shoulder and flank. "What do you think, guys!" Pearla said happily, leading the bouncing mare over to the barn. "She's stunning!" Colin managed to cough out. "She's a bit of a surprise mare as well. When we landed Georgia greeted me to do a quick check. Turns out the mare is pregnant and due in a couple months." Pearla informed everyone "Oh also, Colin, this is your mare. I thought of you when I saw her. You'll definitely be able to train her and watch her succeed." Colin was baffled. He just took the grey mare from Pearla. She gave him a greeting nudge on the face. Colin smiled so wide it covered his whole face. He led the mare to the barn, thrilled.

Woo! Pregnant surprise mare. Keep an eye out for her foal!

Personality/background: Very curious mare. Always letting her curiosity get her into little scrambles and messes. From getting buckets stuck on her head to getting caught in a fence, it never stops her from snooping. She's totally a gentle giant and a huge goof. She's always prancing and dancing all over the place. She's been excelling well in racing, so we intend on pursuing that for a year or 2. After her career, she will probably become an eventing and halter brood mare.
