Ok, so I haven't posted lately. There are two reasons. 1, of course, would be the thesis, due at the end of this week. Definately an artist block, if I ever found one.

2, is this piece. My computer has become rather slow, and made major tablet use slower than usual, but this piece would still have taken a decent chunk of time. On estimation, it took about 60 hours, on and off. But I have to say it was worth it, although I dunno if I'm completely satsified, and may go a few brush ups later.

An a continuation of the theme in Underwater, two species escape to seclusion only to meet in the shores of a grassy dock. I haven't decided if this is the first time these have met, but they seem to be more curious than scared, huh?
I went back to the 'standard' mer tail for this picture, because, although the shark tail seems more plausible, it's near impossible to get it to look proper breaching the water. The markings are more distinct this time around, but very similar to the first merman.
Why Blue hair? I dunno. It just fit.

A print should be available soon for this. Let me know if I can do anything to make it more likely to go on your wall. Heh.

There are plenty of fish in the sea, but sexy mermen?😍

Are they the same two? The original is still one of my favourite Jessart pieces. I think this is a great idea.

Too bad about your computer. Going to do some cleaning?

The green markings work well.

THis is very nice. I like the shading and the merman's coloring. The blue hair definitely works on him. =D

Wow, this looks like it took a lot of work. I'm not sure about the shading on the girl, she looks a little dirty somehow, particularly around the chest/neck area. The only other thing is mixing media - while the people, water, etc have a softer, hand/tablet colored and drawn look, the pillars are definitely photoshop graded and look to "smooth" for the rest of the picture, and I could be wrong but the grass has the same too sharp look. On the other hand though, I know how hard it would be to actually draw in all of that background-ish kind of stuff, but it would make the picture as a whole work together better.

Otherwise though, I absolutely love the beautiful detailed expressions on your character and the detail you paid in shading the hair, and texturing and shading the merman's tail and the water, it's brilliant.
